We begin our tour in Marbella. If you come from another city then take Marbella as your start point.

From Marbella we are driving in the direction to Ojén / Coin. We drive along the new road to the mountains. On the way we come also to Ojén. If you are interested drive directly to the village Ojén. It is a small town which has taken only a little bit profit from the expansion of Marbella. But now villas will be built here and in some years you will see the construction boom and that this village also will be taken up from the tourists.

If you come back to the country road drive in the direction to Coin. The good constructed road is above single-lane. You´re only some kilometres away until the turn-off to the Nature Reserve. You must see it and take a little walk. The turn-off Refugio de Juanar ends in front of a hotel. Only some metres away you can´t continue driving with your car, because the door is shut directly at the beginning of the nature reserve Reserva Nacional de Serrania de Ronda. Nature-loving people can spend their night in the hotel and enjoy the fresh mountain air. In the nature reserve you can go hiking and if you come back to the hotel you can take a seat, drink your coffee or eat s.th.

Now we drive back to the country road and continue driving to the direction of Coin. We pass by the village Monda and we´ll see the castle with the hotel. The village itself is beautiful with its small alleys.If you want so make an excursion.

Now drive directly to Coin. This town can be wonderful but also repulsive. It depends on the time you´ll take your tour. During the time of the orange harvest Coin is very interesting and friendly with the lots of oranges and also lemons.

Unfortunately Coin is a loud town with its roaring and raging mopeds and the inhabitants are coarse and rustic. You see it´s all different for a tourist.

Drive now to Mijas / Fuengirola. You can take easily the wrong way, and if you´ve passed a beautiful company with marble you are too far away from the right way. Before it you must turn off right uphill.

If you´re on the right way then continue driving to the hill in the direction to the sea. From far away you´ll see a castle on a hill. But it´s not a castle in reality, it is a water tower which you can visit. If you have luck and the gate isn´t closed, you can drive with your car until the tower. But if the gate is closed, don´t lose time and don´t walk. Keep your energy for later to visit Mijas. Across the way from the water tower is the golf course Alhaurin Golf.

You´re on the roundabout and you´re driving in the direction of Mijas. This village is international well-known and those who haven´t seen it have not seen the real Andalusia. Enjoy the breathtaking sea-view and the view to Fuengirola and Mijas Costa. There are a lots of people living in Mijas and the surroundings and very soon you´ll feel that it must not always be Marbella to enjoy the life. The village Mijas itself is for the tourism. You can visit the beautiful alleys and the market places. Mijas with its white houses is worthwhile.

Behind the town hall (Ayuntamiento) is a car park. Use this possibility, there is a sign to keep left before you reach the centre of the village.

Don´t park in the no parking zone, because your car will be towed off very quick.

If you want more informations about Mijas go to the town hall (Ayuntamiento). They have also informations about the surroundings of Mijas in different languages. The most of it are free.

In Mijas there is also a bullring. But we´ve heard from some of the tourists that the fights in Mijas are like a "massacre" what has nothing to do with a bullfight. That´s a question of nerves! So if you aren´t cool enough don´t make a visit.

Mijas at night is fantastic and if you aren´t far away from your home stay here, end your tour and enjoy the rest of the day.

The best way to return to Marbella or to your start point is via Fuengirola. You come directly to the road on the coast and you can also decide to use the new motorway. Unfortunately the prices are changing from season to season and are sometimes very expensive. The coast road is good passable and you must not use the motorway.

Fuengirola is also a worthwhile town. If you like the nightlife you can enjoy it from the time of 00:00 upwards. But if it is possible to park after that time we can´t guarantee it and at summer time it is possible to be in a traffic jam at 2 o´clock in the nights. Fuengirola is for the family and so also at nights there are special offers for the children. So don´t miss to visit Fuengirola. The longest beach of Europe is with lighting and more than 10 kilometres provide you with fun and food. Also for the elderly people is the nightlife without fear, not like the "Ballermann".
